The house comfortably sleeps 8 in 4 bedrooms.  A characterful cottage set in its own grounds spanning 2 floors, offering spacious, stylish accommodation to guests wanting to experience everything Northumberland has to offer. A superb base from which to relax and explore.

The little things we offer

At Coast and Country Northumberland we pride ourselves on the little things we offer to make your stay extra special. These include:

  • Prosecco, chocolates and fresh flowers upon arrival as well as milk, bottled spring water, tea, coffee and hot chocolate.

  • A doggy welcome pack with hand made biscuits by Doggy Delish for our canine visitors.

  • Discounted golf at Dunstanburgh Castle and Longhirst Golf Clubs (subject to pre booking).

  • Approved list of private chefs/caterers who can provide their services in the cottages.

  • Organised sea swims off the Farne Islands for experienced open water swimmers.

Living room with stunning sea views; full length bi-fold doors open onto the veranda and overlook the wide garden and sunken patio with uninterrupted views of the sea beyond. Comfortable seating for all guests.  Wood burner effect stove, TV/DVD player, DVDs, books, board games, work desk, dressing up box.  

Open plan kitchen/dining room.  Kitchen generously equipped to easily cater for 8 people. Range style electric cooker with double oven, American style fridge/freezer, Nespresso style Coffee Machine with pods, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, first aid kit.  Dining table with seating for 8 with views out of the second set of full-length bi-fold doors which also open on to the veranda, gardens and out to sea.

Large games room. Pool table, table and chairs for games.  Integral utility space with washing machine, separate tumble dryer, iron and ironing board, heated clothes dryer.  Vacuum cleaner. Deckchairs for outside use.  Door into garden.

What is the outside space like?

Private drive at the front with space for up to 3 cars (additional cars will need to park in the village car park at the entrance to Craster but please note, no overnight parking allowed).

From Spring 2024 there will be two rapid electric ‘pay as you go’ vehicle charging points for the exclusive use of guests.

An elevated veranda runs along the rear of the house.

The enclosed, private back garden contains a circular picnic table and BBQ.  

There is also a sunken, enclosed patio area adjoining the seafront boundary which is furnished with a dining table and chairs.

Outdoor table and chairs for up to ten people.

Our exclusively designed deckchairs are provided for your enjoyment.

A side gate opens onto a small path leading down to the rocky and sandy beach below.

Dolphins, seals and even a basking shark have been spotted from the comfort of Water's Edge!

Booking Details

Check in after 4pm using the lockbox.

Check out by 10am.

 

Broadband Wifi is provided throughout which also allows for internet enabled phone calls (nb mobile signals are limited in Craster). 

Guests receive a welcome pack in addition to complimentary tea, coffee pods, hot chocolate, biscuits and milk.

Bed linen, towels, beach towels, tea towels and dishwasher tablets are included.

Each bedroom is provided with a hairdryer and beach towels.

We are child friendly; high chairs, stair gates, travel cots & bedding (available on request) are included.  Fully enclosed garden.

 

At Christmas the living room is decorated.

 

Supermarket Deliveries: Sainsbury, Tesco, Asda and Morrisons all deliver to our address at:

Water's Edge, Haven Hill, Craster, NE66 3TR.

 

Dogs: Up to 3 well behaved dogs are allowed by prior arrangement, they receive a Doggy Welcome Pack upon arrival.

There is a £30 supplement per dog to be paid by cash before the end of your stay.

Four legged friends must be supervised at all times and are not allowed upstairs or on any of the furniture.

All dog waste must be cleared from the site before your departure, if not a charge will be made after your stay, so please check!

You will be provided with a full list of the owners’ recommendations of attractions and eateries after booking.

What's nearby?

Just step outside and you can enjoy all the facilities the picturesque fishing village of Craster has to offer. 

The renowned gastro pub ‘The Jolly Fisherman’ is almost next door!

An art gallery/gift shop, cafe, kipper smokehouse and a children’s playground are all within close proximity to the cottage.

The scenic fishing harbour is barely a two minute walk away.

The romantic ruins of 14th century Dunstanburgh Castle lie a gentle one mile walk beyond the harbour, along low lying, grassy cliffs.

Historic Alnwick is 6 miles away.

Excellent walking, trekking, golf, fishing and cycling are all within easy reach.

Northumberland was voted the best UK holiday county in the 2018 British Travel Awards.
